I understand the anxiety that can be associated with standardized testing. I am available to provide testing using the Stanford 10 Test. This is an untimed test. I prefer that, as it helps to alleviate some of the stress associated with testing. This test is not aligned with common core and is a more thorough and complete test than some of the others that simply "meet" state requirements. This test really does help you, the parent, to know if you are doing your job as a teacher and where you can help your child improve.
The Stanford tests includes the following subjects –
I have planned each student to attend two sessions. The sessions are three hours each. It is possible that we will not need all three hours each day – but it is too much, in my opinion, to do in one sitting. For students K-3rd grade – we will take breaks to help them get through the testing period. We will do the first half of the test under session 1 and the second half of the test under session 2.
In the event that a student finishes early, I will text you so you that you may come and pick them up. The cost for the testing fee is $25 per student, payable to me via PayPal or personal check. Payment does need to be received no later than 2 weeks prior to the first test date.
You will need to purchase your test materials and have them sent to me. You will do that at http://www.bjupresshomeschool.com/category/homeschool-stanford-tests. To select the proper test, you will choose the test for the grade level that your child is completing. For example, if your child is currently in 3rd grade and will be entering the 4th grade in the fall, you would order Stanford Grade 3 Spring/Grade 4 Fall test. Do not purchase the OLSAT test. You will be asked to select your tester – please enter my zip code - 97123 under "find a tester" and you will be able to select my name. Your tests will be mailed directly to me. Be sure to enter the test date for the first session. The date for the second session does not need to be entered. Additionally, if asked at the time of order, your child’s full date of birth and full name will need to be entered, as well as your email address. The registration form will ask all the questions needed for the testing form. I will fill those things in for you in advance of the testing day to help save time and avoid mistakes. I will ask you to review the test form on the first day of testing to confirm the information is correct.
At the end of the test, all materials will stay with me. I will not be grading them. I will be mailing off all the materials and completed tests to BJU. I will make sure to include insurance on the package. BJU will facilitate the scoring of the tests. You will be receiving your child’s test scores electronically. I will not see them. This will be for your eyes only. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to email me.
